The present project is based on the idea that a political community is defined primarily by its members’ shared morality. We consider that an appropriate way of approaching the relevance of moral issues in the study of political communities is by focusing on their attitudes towards violence, as it is exercised both within and outside the group, and therefore by interrogating the norms built around them.
